Materia Medica Restorative Herbalism Center’s Clinical Herbalist, Karen Burr, specializes in supporting clients’ overall health and addressing imbalances through nature-based, plant-powered care. Using herbs foraged from the wild and grown in our Indianapolis gardens, she helps the body naturally maintain balance and wellness, supporting both physical and emotional health.
Our mission is to guide clients toward healthier, more vibrant lives through the restorative power of local herbal care. We proudly serve clients throughout Greenwood and Central Indiana, welcoming those who travel from near and far to experience personalized, in-person care. While our focus is on local sessions, virtual appointments are available upon request for clients elsewhere in Indiana.

Custom Herbal Formulation Consultation: $100 plus any herbal remedies (120 Minutes)
Welcome to the world of herbal remedies! If you feel like you are drawn to earth based medicine and would love to explore a new relationship with the magic and chemistry of plants with a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner & Clinical Herbalist, then a custom herbal formation appointment is for you. With a consultation & confidential health history together, we can create custom remedies and foundations for your personal health goals. Learning how to live closer to nature can bring an abundance of healing.

Wildcrafted Herbal Facial Treatments: $175 (90 Minutes)
Our herbal facial treatments are designed to support hormonal aging skin with both internal and topical seasonal herbal blends. As we age our tissues thin from the inside out and our physiology changes, this every 8 week treatment is designed to help you thicken and tone epithelial tissues without the use of expensive & synthetic topical only treatments. Aging can be done gracefully and sustainably when the hormonal body systems are being supported. This herbal facial treatment with internal and topical supports is designed to nourish you from the inside and out are included with each treatment. This treatment is designed for the peri and postmenopausal woman.

Our Skin Renewal Treatments are designed to help with a variety of both bacterial, fungal & viral skin conditions such as Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Peri Oral Dermatitis & Skin rashes. Included: Both customized internal & external supports included for take home use.

A clinical blend of herbal chemistry designed to soothe dry eyes, allergies, styes and conjunctivitis.

Respiratory Nebulizer Herbal Support Therapy: $30 (45 Minutes)
A customized herbal blend that is Nebulized to support chronic asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis & upper respiratory viruses based on each person and tissue states.

Herbal Formulation Follow Up: $50 (60 Minutes)
This appointment allows us to regroup and focus on how your current herbal blends and new foundations of health have supported you and a time to regroup for your future needs.

Learn Your Land Plant Walks $250 (4+ Hours)
Karen loves to guide clients through your land to teach you how to identify and utilize both medicinal and wild food plants that grow all around you. When you have a deeper understanding of the eco systems that grow all around you, you are inspired and empowered to live closer to nature and less reliant on the world of mass produced foods and pharmaceuticals.
We book plant walks May - October. We will be walking and learning for at least 4 hours so plan accordingly and invite your family and friends to learn with you.

Community Acupuncture: $60 (60 Minutes)
Every other Friday at the Materia Medica Restorative Herbalism Center, book acupuncture with Dr. Kim Filkins, featuring liver & lymphatic herbal mocktails. Appointments are available from 11am-2pm.
